I am a 38-year-old entrepreneur and have a Master of Science in Technology (MSc Tech). I ended up in Kuopio due to my spouse's work. Before returning to Finland in 2021, we lived in Cambridge, England for almost two years.
Technology, analytical thinking and a passion for numbers have colored both my studies and my work throughout my life. My career has been in the IT industry in both public companies and startups.
In addition to strong green values, environmental responsibility and humane justice, my thinking is characterized by basing decisions and justifications on scientific knowledge, as well as being pro-markets.
Among family and friends, I am known as someone who pays attention to details and whom you can always ask for help and tips - whether it's navigating the bureaucratic jungle or reducing your own carbon footprint with electric cars.
Throughout my life, I have also been an active athlete. As a junior, I played, together with my sister Noora, hockey in the same club. Later in our family, the much-encouraged hobby took my sister all the way to hockey professionalism - Noora has achieved two Olympic bronze medals as a goalkeeper for the women's national ice hockey team. I myself switched the sport from hockey to golf, where I competed as a junior at the national level. I still play golf as a hobby, mainly we enjoy the green together with my relatives and friends. I have also been a club referee for many years.
I hold several different positions of trust, for example, in the boards of housing companies, as the treasurer of The Finnish Greens for Science and Technology, and as the chairman of BIEN Finland - the Finnish Basic Income Network.
